Building Men for God’s Kingdom

Purpose

Cole Men’s Ministries exists for the purpose of helping men grow into disciples of Jesus Christ, who will become disciple-makers of others.

“It’s hard to remember that Jesus did not come to make us safe, but rather to make us disciples, citizens of God’s new age, a kingdom of surprise.” Stanley Hauerwas

Disciples of Christ will:

• Exhibit love. (John 13:35)
• Be Obedient. (Matthew 7:21)
• Display the fruit of the Spirit. (Galations 5:22)
• Use gifts to serve others. (1 Peter 4:10-11) In their homes, jobs – wherever God has placed them.

Goals

Cole Men’s Ministry’s goal is to provide opportunities for men to gather together in a variety of formats to help them grow in their understanding of God’s Word, in their love for one another, and in their service of others. We want to make disciples of men, so they will be equipped to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13) and help the body of Christ grow into Christ-likeness. Our method and our goal is discipleship.

What is Discipleship?

Jesus modeled discipleship by discipling twelve men. During His three years with them, Jesus challenged the disciples’ innermost thoughts and beliefs and taught them from God’s word. They watched their Master serve others and defend the faith. They got involved. The Master watched them succeed and fail, but never abandoned them. Eventually, it came time for the disciples to lead others, “… go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). This is the great commission of our Lord and is what Cole Men’s Ministry seeks to accomplish… Making disciples. See article Discipling Men.
