John Buren

Family Ministries Pastor

John was born and raised in Stockton, California. Having become a Christian as a teenager, he understands the difference that a relationship with Jesus Christ makes in a young life. Since 2004 he has worked with children, youth and young adults in a variety of fashions, helping them grow in Christ through things like Sunday school, VBS, youth group, summer camps, Bible studies and mission trips. Believing ministry is best done together, John is passionate about helping parents and volunteers feel prepared and equipped to do the work of the ministry.

John and his wife Julie enjoy spending time visiting different beaches, walking their dog, watching science fiction shows and playing games. John graduated from Gateway Seminary with his Master’s in Divinity, and still enjoys learning all that he can. He joined the team at Cole Community Church at the beginning of 2022 and is excited about all that God is doing in the Treasure Valley and beyond.
